    Good photo pan technique, although one of the original comments on Flickr said that the blur stops around the boys, which means it was Photoshopped. I’m not convinced of that – I think what were seeing is that flash was used (otherwise you’d have major shadows in their faces, especially the front kid), and that added an extra degree of motion stop in addition to the pan.

    Also, pan technique is deceptive on speed – they could be going only 10 mph – I’ve used this technique on my kids riding a bik and it looks like their flying. Anyway – you probably weren’t looking for a technical analysis, so feel free to delete th–

    No, your technical analysis is very interesting. I had a feeling that seriously high speeds would necessarily result in longer motion trails on the image … more like several multiples the width of the blurs we see on this image. But, yeah, kids probably like photos of themselves involving the pan technique because it comports with their totally awesome high-flying self-image. =)
